KrixKrax
First I signed my paintings as KrisztArt, but someone told me that this is really lame, I should come up with something else.
I belong to the generation, when many of us got this name.
My nephews found the name Kriszta hard to pronounce, so they called me KrixKrax. I liked the name, recognised myself in it. This name at least makes sense.
first steps
After I spent half my life caring for others' heartache, when my children went to university, I finally started to care about my heart's desire in serious: painting.
It was around this time when Széna started Firkart Rajzműhely, which I joined with grat enthusiasm. I went to my first ever creating capm with this team, organized by Ágota Tálos in the Fon-Art creative house. I returned to Ágota several times since, partook in her courses and had the opportunity to learn from László Zsóka and János Sebestyén as well.
On september 14. 2019, on the feast of The Exaltation of the Holy Cross I held my first exhibition. Organized by Pro Kultúra Sopron, held in the midst of Lővér family day, at the crown jewel of Lőverek in Sopron, in the garden of the chapel on Villa-lane.
A month later I held a pop-up exhibition for my friends in the banquethall of the Kolostor hotel in Sopronbánfalva.
In the oldtown of Sopron the Septem Gallery have taken in 5 of my paintings.
improvement
I did my best, gathering knowledge from whatever source I could. I discovered that painting is much the same profession as music. Only here it's not the quartsext accord, the molto presto and the syncope, but blobs, lines, colors are the components. One has to learn how they come together and practice it. For this, the pandemic came to my aid.
For one, because I had nowhere to go, I missed out on nothing, if I stayed home to paint.
For another, I found Loránd Sipos and joined his brand new online painting school. Here I face various techniques and assignments, and thanks to the compulsion for conformity instilled in me I try everything. Since the start I have met the teacher and my fellow students in several in-person camps.
In an adventurous impulse I finished awent through graphic design training in the mean time. By the end the school couldn't test me due to a lack of accreditation, but I have aquired the basics.
I joined the international BoldSchool creative community, where I have been getting more inspiration and support ever since.
and beyond...
In recent years my paintings weren't just bought by those interested, I get more and more requests, which I fulfill gladly.
On the 1st of october 2022, on the World Day of Music I opened a stand-alone exhibition in the Sopron School of Music. Next to each painting visitors could find QR codes which lead to orchestral pieces of music which in one way or another enhanced the themes and mood of the painting. The music was selected from the repertoire of the local Liszt Ferenc Philhamonic Orchestra (in which I play the contrabass).
I recieved a request from the local Petőfi Sándor Theatre to hold an exhibition for the premiere of a new comedy show - sadly this has been postponed for the time being.
I made greeting cards from paintings of Sopron, they can be found in frequented giftshops all around the town.
My favorite are available as prints and other merchendise. The creator of the webshop made an introductionary report with me, and let me tell you, I was terribly anxious!
I still enjoy what I do, nothing can stop me! I'm always trying to peek behind the corner to see where this road leads me.
