Imri
2022
Acryl, 75x58 cm
My magnum opus. If I picked up painting solely for this, it was worth it.

Lion
2022
Acryl, 58x58 cm
Can you ever get used to living under the same roof with a lion?
...
If you run your finger through his mane
or bury your face in it, you are at awe,
what suffocating oppulance!
Well you can get used to
your enemies scatter and run,
meanwhile you walk your
slightly larger than usual friend
in the utmost peace of mind.
Or is he walking you?
Good question, a wee tug,
and he'd be free, but out of love
he chose to stay with you.

Holy Silence
2022
Acryl, 40x30 cm
The moment of devotion. The light entering the church from on high shines brilliantly on him. Everything and everyone is closed out, what remains is engrossing in Him.

Brümi

Acryl, 75x58 cm
Jutika played the cello beautyfully. She brought Brümi everywhere with her. We had to greet her and the teddy bear separately when we met.

Davide da Firenze
2023
Highlight marker, 32x24 cm
I developped a pencil drawing from 2021. I got my hands on a bunch of markers with wonderful colours. Only, I don't understand what they are good for in their original purpose. At least it never made studying easier if I coloured it in. I could somewhat remember the colours, but what I highlighted with wich, less so.

Jean-Michel
2022
Coal and pastel 40x30 cm
Jean-Michel Basquiat, the black kid painted in the cellar of the white art world's emblematic locale, while rich whites watched. He in return didn't even acknoledge the visitors. His entire life became a performance, as he existed as a black painter in this World. Basquiat despised this world, but at the same time he wanted to belong, which ground him up spiritually. To add to that as a black person he felt uncomfortable in such a monochrome world. Whatever he did, he was branded a wild man, a creature of instinct who is different from the refined, intellectual white painters. It didn't matter, that his paintings are full of cultural references. It didn't matter, that every composition is carefully thought out and developped. It didn't matter that his paintings carry difficult, multifascited messages. A genius, but different from us, that's why we keep him - this is what he listened to all day. What he got in return was that he is someone unlearned, lacking traditional training.
Basquiat played into his role, to point out the immanent racism of the art world, but he was deeply offended by the situation. He could buy a car with the money in his pocket, but he can't even flag a cab, because he is black.

Lewa

Acryl, 35x50 cm
Christmas present for Simsi, his favorite footballer, Robert Lewandowski. Besides being a top notch athlete, he is also an upstanding man. I am glad I could get to know him.
